CURRENT OPEN POSITIONS

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL FLOATER POSITION (DSP) –
Part-time

Join our team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist and support adults with developmental disabilities in vocational skills training, developmental rehabilitation, social skills training, and community integration within our community day services program in Skokie, Illinois.

Schedule/Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 1st shift (25 hours per week) Typical schedules: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM. No weekends or holidays required.

ART FACILITATOR – Part Time

Bring Your Creativity to a Program That Changes Lives!

The Douglas Center is seeking a Part-Time Art Facilitator to join our Art From the Heart Creations program! This unique initiative provides hands-on artistic experiences for adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities, guiding and assisting them in creating beautiful art pieces that are sold throughout the community.

If you are a passionate artist with experience in multiple art mediums and a heart for making a difference, we’d love to hear from you!

Position Details:

Location: The Douglas Center – Skokie, IL
Hours: Part-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide program participants in discovering and developing their artistic skills.
  • Adapt art and craft techniques to suit individual abilities.
  • Lead engaging group art sessions.
  • Develop new ideas for sellable artwork (mosaics, greeting cards, jewelry, painting/drawing, paper crafts, and more).
  • Foster a supportive, encouraging, and creative atmosphere.

Ideal Candidate:

✔ Experience in multiple art mediums (mosaic, jewelry, painting, paper crafts, etc.).
✔ Passion for working with individuals of all abilities.
✔ Experience with adults with disabilities is a plus (but not required—we provide training!).
✔ A team player who values patience, flexibility, and creativity.
