Volunteer
Volunteers are an important part of The Douglas Center. We continue to be blessed with volunteers who give of their time, energy and service to the mission of our center and the individuals we serve.
Would you like to help? If you are someone who is compassionate, patient and willing to help guide individuals to the best version of themselves, we want to hear from you. Our participants have mild to severe developmental, physical and mental disabilities. Just under half are of ethnic minority and 30% of these individuals are over 65. Let us know if you are willing to take on this challenging yet rewarding work.

Would you like to share your love of art?
Art From the Heart ❤️Creations®:
Can you color, paint, draw or enjoy helping others? A passion for the ARTS is a plus, but experience is not necessary. We are seeking volunteers are needed in the Art From the Heart ❤️Creations® program. Join our team, create art and empower the lives of those living with disabilities,
Service Hours : 10am-2pm, Monday and/or Thursday.
Share your love of reading
A Reading Assistance Volunteer:
If you are in school to become a teacher or just enjoy helping people improve their reading skills, this is for you! Many clients at The Douglas Center are at lower reading levels and would like to improve their reading ability or just practice reading. You will work under the guidance and supervision of a trained staff member.
We request a 60 hour commitment over the course of 3 months. We would love to hear from you.
