Sewing
The Douglas Center provides machine sewing training and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Many tasks related to sewing are learned, such as cutting, ironing, measuring as well as sewing. Expanding their skill level based on the client's abilities. All under the guidance and quality control of experienced staff. The Douglas Center, in partnership with the AbilityOne program, has held sewing contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) in addition to an increasing number of sewing contracts from the private sector.
